Michael Lockett is a highly accomplished technology leader with over 30 years of experience in the IT industry, specializing in driving digital transformation, strategic IT planning, and innovation. In this position, he is responsible for ensuring that technology aligns with organizational goals and drives growth across the business. Michael’s leadership focuses on leveraging cutting-edge technologies to maximize business impact while optimizing operational efficiency.
Before joining Grant Cardone Training Technologies, Michael was the Virtual Chief Information Officer for Wipfli, a leading consulting and accounting firm. During his tenure, he provided strategic IT oversight to clients in the U.S. and Canada, helping them align their technology strategies with business objectives. Michael successfully guided organizations through IT maturity assessments and developed strategic roadmaps that facilitated improved efficiency and enhanced technology adoption. His work involved leading cross-functional teams and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure smooth project delivery and risk mitigation.
Michael’s career has spanned across various industries, including government, education, and private sector organizations, where he has consistently led transformative IT initiatives. Notably, he served as the CIO for the Seminole Tribe of Florida from 2018 to 2021, where he was responsible for managing a diverse IT department of over 90 employees. His leadership helped streamline operations, and he was instrumental in driving cost savings, including negotiating a Microsoft licensing agreement that saved the organization over $379,000. Furthermore, Michael spearheaded a cloud migration project that saved the Tribe $3.8 million in telecom, software, and support costs, ensuring the organization’s infrastructure was agile, scalable, and secure.
In addition to his role at the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Michael has held several key IT leadership positions, including Director of Technology Services for the City of Pembroke Pines, Florida. There, he led the design and implementation of the City Center’s IT infrastructure, a major project that included building a state-of-the-art convention center and modernizing the City’s technology systems. He also managed the successful deployment of a citywide fiber network, which reduced telecom costs and enhanced data redundancy. Earlier in his career, Michael worked as the IT Manager for the City of Dunwoody, Georgia, where he was instrumental in developing the city’s technology infrastructure from the ground up.
