Sony acquires Boca Raton-based KinaTrax to expand its sports data business into player performance

In a major development, KinaTrax, a leader in research-grade markerless motion capture technology for sports that collects in-game biomechanical performance data on athletes, has been acquired by Sony Corporation, joining the ranks of Sony’s sports businesses.

Boca Raton-based KinaTrax, is on a mission to provide professional and collegiate teams with game-changing insights at the speed of sport about their most valuable asset: their athletes. They are a leader in markerless motion capture technology designed to enhance sports performance and injury prevention through advanced biomechanics.
