Micro Center, the renowned computer and electronics superstore, has officially opened its first Florida location at the Mall of the Americas in Miami, taking over the former Tiger Direct space.
The grand opening on August 23 drew hundreds of tech enthusiasts, along with prominent Miami executives from companies like AMD, Dell, Origin PC, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, and Venture Miami, eager to witness the ribbon-cutting ceremony and enjoy the day’s festivities.
The 40-year-old Ohio-based Micro Center brand is rapidly expanding across the U.S., and its Miami store marks the 28th location, following the recent opening of Micro Center Charlotte. Spanning 37,000 square feet, the new store located at 7795 W. Flagler Street in Miami aims to become a key destination for South Florida’s tech community. Unlike many big-box retailers, Micro Center positions itself as a community partner—a hub for technology expertise and resources. They cater to a diverse customer base, from small and medium-sized businesses and startups to content creators, hobbyists, gamers, and those seeking specialized tech like 3D printing, AI, drones, and more.
One of the standout features is the store’s Build Your Own PC section, where customers can build custom PCs using a variety of components. For Apple fans, the Apple Pod showcases the latest MacBooks, iMacs, and accessories. Dedicated AI Pods from Lenovo and Microsoft feature cutting-edge laptops and desktops optimized for artificial intelligence applications, while the Dell Creator Station offers high-end workstations designed for content creators working in video editing, graphic design, and 3D rendering.
Micro Center goes beyond just selling products. The store is a community resource, offering informational classes on topics like AI for small businesses, product demonstrations, and hands-on community events. They also house a Knowledge Center & Repair Shop, a full-service repair hub that’s a certified Apple service provider. Visitors can engage with interactive 3D printing demos, including a robot-operated cartridge wall and innovative options like 3D cookie printing. For the growing content creation space, the store boasts a Live Stream Area where influencers and tech enthusiasts can build and showcase their custom PC systems, and a Content Creator Aisle filled with essential tools and accessories.
As part of their commitment to the community, Micro Center is hiring tech experts with skills in hardware, software, AI, and 3D printing. The brand’s goal is to create an environment where technology is not only accessible but also empowering, offering new AI and 3D printing centers within their stores and opportunities for customers to learn, create, and grow.
With over 120 employees and plans to hire more, Micro Center Miami is set to become a vital hub for technology enthusiasts and professionals alike. This new location not only strengthens Micro Center’s U.S. presence but also enriches Miami’s tech ecosystem by offering a unique blend of products, services, and expertise to the community.
