TITLE:
MANAGER – IT SOLUTIONS
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.
Bachelor’s degree, with such degree preferred in computer technology, information science or atechnology related field; OR an equivalent combination of training with minimum of seven (7) yearsprogressively responsible project management, supervisory and professional experience specific tothe position’s assignment area. (Areas include, but are not necessarily limited to, intra- / internetservices; applications or systems analysis, support and development; computer operations andsupport; networks, databases and servers administration; voice / data communications; broadcastoperations; instructional and educational technology; data analyses, management and reporting;computer-aided management systems; help-desk administration; and security administration.)
2.
Certification(s) applicable to the assigned management area are preferred and may be required(per specific industry regulatory standards).
3.
May include practicum and/or written test component(s) for purposes of hiring and/or promotionwithin the career series.
4.
Extensive demonstrated leadership skills with evidence of having successfully lead major projectsand having provided leadership in areas specific to the position’s management responsibilities.
5.
Demonstrated knowledge of current change management principles and best practices as appliedto the fields of technology, information services and information systems.
6.
Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and staff development with respect to the transfer ofknowledge, skills and abilities of the position’s assignment area.
7.
Demonstrated communication skills in both oral and written form.
8.
Knowledge of current computing technologies and software applications appropriate to theposition’s job responsibilities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
1.
Provides project management and leadership to staff and external resources assigned to supportthe established goals and objectives of the functional assignment area.
2.
Researches, develops and implements policies and procedures for functional area(s) under chargeconsistent with current standards for best practices.
3.
Manages compilation, analyses, interpretation and reporting on information / data utilized inidentifying and addressing issues affecting accuracy, performance, productivity or other key metrics/ indicators.
4.
Exercises leadership, initiative and independent judgment in determining priorities and standards,including the methods and processes by which established goals and objectives are accomplished.
5.
Establishes and maintains documentation systems applicable to the functional area according topolicies, procedures and applicable regulatory standards and requirements.
6.
Leads and/or provides direct support to change management initiatives in accordance with bestpractices as applied to the fields of technology, information services, and information systems.
7.
Provides leadership in planning, implementation, maintenance and repair of functional, structural,programmatic, systematic, and other technology objectives of the department.
