Technology Services Intern

Technology Interns are responsible for helping the technology team complete tasks
such as providing phone support for our external customers, assisting in QA routines
and other technical assignments. Intern qualifications and responsibilities include:

Prioritizes, manages time well and is  detail oriented 

Possesses good Critical Thinking skills  and can analyze a potential problem  

and confirm the problem 

Possesses analytical and problem solving skills 

Demonstrates the ability to identify  software defects and Data errors 

Is independent, self-motivated,  

proactive and results oriented 

Possesses proven aptitude for  

understanding software technical  

process 

Works well with internal supporting  teams (DEV, DBA, Project  

Management, QA) 

Has verifiable experience with  

Microsoft Office Products 

Currently in college with the intent of  graduating with a Computer Science  

related degree 

Up to 1 year experience in a similar role  or related position (consideration will  be given to new graduates, trainees,  

Veterans with appropriate educational  credentials and/or DSS experience) 

Knows basic PC/Mac functionalities  and troubleshooting skills 

Possesses good phone etiquette,  verbal, and written communication  

skills 

Possesses web browser navigation  knowledge, troubleshooting, and  

literacy 

Possesses good customer service  skills 

Ability to learn on the go

Will directly contribute to the product  quality of assigned product line(s) by  

testing and reporting defects of new and  updated software programs 

Is assigned to one product line fulltime  and may be assigned to other products  as backup 

Executes manual test cases 

Reviews test scripts/cases 

Run SQL scripts as directed by mentor Learn new software as assigned 

Reports defects found during testing or  reported by Technical Support 

Participates in daily stand-up meetings  for assigned product line 

Possesses good verbal and written  communication skills 

Will have to learn Software Development  Organizational tools such as Jira and  

Slack 

Will have to provide good customer  service verbally and written 

Organize and meet proper SLA  

guidelines in support ticketing system 

Document and organize ticketing  

system data properly 

Participate in creative meetings to  discuss and plan test cases for  

upcoming software updates and new  

features 

Be able to demonstrate the latest  

updates/train business team on new  

software updates and features
