Position Specific Description
Smile! You’ve found us! At NextEra Energy, our people are our greatest asset and our IT team is seeking a DevOps Engineer. We are looking for candidates with working knowledge of Firewall policies and Active Directory, AWS Cloud Formation, experience building Jenkins pipelines
Preferred Qualification
- Part 810 compliant (Nuclear regulation)
- Strong communicator and a team player
- Needs to be familiar with Jenkins scripting and associated shell scripting on Linux
- Docker – How to build images and deploy using Jenkins pipeline
- AWS CLI – How to incorporate into shell scripting for deploying to AWS
- Experience with an Agile Kanban or Scrum environment
- Bitbucket – How to configure for Jenkins Hooks
- SonarQube for code coverage reporting
- AWS knowledge of services listed below
- API Gateway, Cloud Front, Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, Cognito, DynamoDB, DMS, ECR, ECS, EC2, IAM, Lambdas, RDS, Route 53, Sagemaker, Secret Manager, SES, SNS, S3, VPC, Xray
Job Overview
Employees in this role are responsible for automating the process of software delivery and infrastructure changes. Individuals drive continued improvement of software delivery process.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports the continuous integration services maintenance and configuration and keeps the build environment for the software developers working well
- Maintains and creates automatic deployment of software builds to test and production environments and enables the operations team to easily and consistently deploy software developed by the new products teams
- Monitors system development and maintenance and ensures that staff at all technical levels are informed of the health of our systems
- Continually evaluates Operation teams processes and automates repetitive and temporary solutions
- Improves the product environment and practices used by the software developers
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 3+ years
